Gracias Madre. But really. Whoever's momma taught them to cook vegan food like this needs to be thanked. You all know I suffer from food allergies, and going to a restaurant like this is a dream for me. If I can have anything on the menu, including dessert, then I am one happy camper. First off, the nachos. Ohhhhh, the nachos. The "cheese" is cashew based, and it was everything. Even the dairy eating folks at the table thought the nachos were so good that we ended up chowing down on two orders! It was a problem... sort of. I ordered the tacos for my main course, and they were darn good. And, just in case you were wondering about the drinks, they were beautiful (and tasty based off the few sips I had of others' drinks), even though I defaulted to my usual beer drinking ways. And let's not forget dessert. Mexican Wedding Cookies and Chocolate Coconut Ice Cream. I think that's all I need to say.
I have to say that one of the other things I love about this restaurant is ambiance. Food is first, but good ambiance is also something that keeps me coming back. The style is sleek, and the outdoor patio is beautiful, with quite a bit of seating. The staff we have encountered (on our two recent visits) were lovely, and we had a genuinely wonderful experience. At the end of the day, if I can get good vegan food, tasty drinks, and a good atmosphere, then I'm hooked, and hooked on Gracias Madre I am.
